It is my pleasure to announce that we have received 49 applications for 25th year of Heran Violoncello Competition. Together with contestants from the Czech Republic, students from 12 more countries are coming - Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Russia, Belarus, Mongolia, South Korea, Portugal and USA.
I am looking forward to meeting those of you who are returning to our competition and I am especially looking forward to 1st category, as we have 20 young cellist coming to compete there. All of you are great personalities in my eyes already. Bohus Heran would be very pleased.
We are doing everything we can to ensure that all of you are going to bring amazing memories back home, and that you will enjoy your stay in Usti nad Orlici a much as possible.

Obligatory compositions 2019
1st category: one round, year of birth 2009 and younger:
2nd category: two rounds, year of birth 2008 and 2007:
Antonín Kraft: Divertimento in A
+ one of following etudes - Sebastian Lee No. 1, 2, 3
2nd round: free program with a maximum length of 10 minutes
3rd category: two rounds, year of birth 2006 and 2005:
Josef Mysliveček: Sonata in G major (State music publishing Moskva 1960)
+ one of following etudes - Sebastian Lee No. 9, 10, 11
2nd round: free program with a maximum length of 15 minutes
4th category: two rounds, year of birth 2004 and 2003:
Bohuslav Martinů: 1st movement from Sonate No. 3 (Bärenreiter Praha, No. H 7893)
+ one of following etudes - Sebastian Lee No. 19, 20, 21
2nd round: free program with a maximum length of 20 minutes
